>Magery
General Information
Magery in the game works exactly how it does in Ultima Online. This is the skill that translated the closest from UO to the game. The 64 Magery spells are broken down into 8 circles of 8 spels, just like UO. They consume the same reagents and cost the same amount of mana. Most of the spells you can either use in battle or from the menu. Some spells are used to solve puzzles. And still, there were some left over that will never get used manually.
I knew this was going to be a problem.
I solved this by making a rule when designing the game: All spells will either be available to be cast maually by the player, cast by people during cut scenes, or at the very least, be mentioned in some way shape or form by the end.

Gaining Skill
![]()
Magery does not follow The Standard Curve. There are two main differences:
- The chance to gain after casting a spell is reduced.
- You only gain if you cast a spell from the highest or second highest circle that you can. (Example: If your mage has learned 4th circle spells, a skill gain check is only performed if you cast a 3rd or 4th circle spell.)
